MELPOMENE INTERNSHIPS
Melpomene offers internships each semester for college seniors and graduate school students studying in health fields who are eager to apply their learning in an inventive manner in the real world.
Melpomene has historic ties to colleges and universities. Interns have played a key role at Melpomene since its founding in 1982. Over 240 interns have contributed to Melpomene research, community projects, and events over the years.
Today, Melpomene is developing a new community model, operating outside of the health care system, to bring strong health habits to women. Melpomene becomes the catalyst for partnerships between academic institutions, community organizations, and health interests to change the approach to chronic disease prevention at the grassroots level. We foresee a replicable model that could be initiated in many communities.
Each internship is tailored to the needs of a partner organization as well as to the academic interests of the student.
